Last Sunday:

A young woman drove by us a few times and then backed up and rolled down her window.  She asked us about what we were doing.  I explained to her that we were praying for people to choose life. I also said that we help women who choose life get the support through the Hope clinic, etc.
She told me that she had considered abortion (she was visibly pregnant) but decided not to, but now her baby girl has a something (perhaps gastrointestinal atresia?? I tried remember what she said and looked it up when I got home) It almost sounded like something that she might consider getting an abortion for but I didn’t want to put that idea in her mind if she wasn’t thinking it, so I didn’t ask.
I told her that I was sorry to hear that and I told her that we would pray for her.  I also invited her to come out to pray with us sometime.
The amazing thing was that we had just started our rosary and she had approached us during the 1st Joyful mystery where there is a prayer for all women who are considering abortion!
Please keep this woman in your prayers!  Pray for the health of her baby and the courage for her to choose life again!  Maybe sometime she will come out and pray with us :) And please pray for me and for all of us so that we will know what to say when someone asks us questions!

We have had 2 more saves, praise God!  Our campaign is going well as we stand up for life!

We still have 9 days left in our campaign.  Let’s keep on going!  Grab a friend and get out there! :)

We are also planning our closing celebration.  It is a baby shower themed potluck and it will be at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Nashville on April 1st at 6pm (following 5pm mass)

Please bring a dish to pass and an item to donate towards mothers in need.  We are coming up with a suggestion list so please stay tuned.

As our campaign enters the home stretch we are looking forward in planning for our next one this fall (maybe we won’t need one.  That would be a wonderful thing) If you are interested in getting involved with pro-life activity in Middle TN please email us! 40daysnashville@gmail.com

Keep up the good work!

From the vigil this morning:

WE HAD A SAVED BABY THIS MORNING.  ANN AND OUR TWO DEACONS WERE THERE.  THE BEAUTIFUL GIRL’S NAME IS AMANDA.  SHE HAS A 3 MONTH OLD BABY AT HOME, AND IS EARLY ON IN THIS PREGNANCY.

THE PLAN IS TO SURPRISE HER TOMORROW MORNING OUT AT WELSHWOOD (SHE HAD ASKED TO COME OUT AND PRAY AROUND 8AM)  PRAISE THE LORD!!!! PLEASE BRING LITTLE GIFTS TO HER TOMORROW…DIAPERS, BABY CLOTHES, ETC.  HOPE CLINIC WILL HELP HER!

ALSO, WE CALLING HOPE CLINIC ABOUT A 36 YR OLD MOTHER WHO IS 6 MONTHS PREGNANT WHO NEEDS HELP.  THIS WOULD BE ANOTHER SAVE DURING 40 DAYS FOR LIFE…SHE HAS SOME MENTAL PROBLEMS AND NEEDS SPECIAL CARE.

Let’s keep those saves coming!  Please try to bring some gifts out in the morning if you can. :)

Please be advised that due to severe weather we are canceling the vigil for this afternoon (Wed., Feb. 29th)  Please keep safe!

I will try to get some updates from the other people who were out at the vigil since it started on Wednesday (please feel free to comment on this post if you have been out there) but for now I will share my experience.

Myself and some others (12 in all at various times) were out at the clinic on Sunday afternoon.  To be honest, I though my husband and I we were going to be alone all or most of the time, but to our delight we were alone for only a short amount of time.

We prayed for 4 hours on Sunday and, even though the clinic was not open, I felt that we made a powerful witness!! It was a beautiful day and there were quite a few people that waved to us (and we tried to wave to as many people as possible- we want to show that we are a friendly bunch!)

It was very exciting praying for that long about a specific subject and out in the open!  It was a lovely day and even though we were tired by the end of it the experience was well worth it!

Please feel free to join us on Sunday afternoons.  The vigil is the place to be!  If it’s sunny out make sure to bring some sunscreen and a hat!  Our faces baked a little in the sun :)

God bless you all!

We have started our 40 days vigil outside of the Women’s Clinic this past Wednesday.  I hope to have more to share soon, but here is something that was shared with me in the past few days:

“Today at Welshwood we had two saves—Praise God!!!!! …I know this would not have happened if no one had been there. The two parties came forth and talked to us willingly. Please keep these two women in all of our prayers.”

What we do does make a difference!  Please consider coming out and make sure to sign up on the vigil calendar so we can see what is covered and what to push for. (Sunday mornings seem to be the hardest spots to fill)

Thanks and God Bless!
